This week has been filled with exciting activities and memorable moments. Here’s a recap of the highlights:
Day Trip to the Ohio State Fair
- Beth, Tommy, and I visited the Ohio State Fair.
- We explored the commercial building, the antique building, the crafts/quits/Christmas trees section at the Kasich building, and more.
- I stocked up on my favorite lime Tootsie Rolls from the candy store. It’s one of the few places where I can get this flavor without the others in the bag.
- We had lunch at the Ohio food area. The “Thanksgiving at the Fair” meal is the best deal around: turkey, Bob Evans mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, and a roll for $13.
- (By comparison, a turkey leg on the midway costs $18).
- Tom and I enjoyed an Ohio beer with lunch—supporting local breweries.

This was as close as I would get to that ride

Cheers!
Outdoor Fun
- Beth and I, along with some scouts, helped at a hunting dog competition.
- We shot a carbide air gun and then threw a decoy in the air to a target (or as close as I could get sometimes).
- After four different decoys were thrown by different groups, the dogs were released from about 200 yards away. They retrieved the decoys as fast as they could.
- It was amazing to see how much the dogs loved this activity!
- I was by the water and got to see the dogs swim to retrieve the decoys.

Who’s a good buoy?
Home Improvement
- Our new Gladiator cabinet was delivered. I assembled it on the deck and reorganized the grill area completely.
- And while I was out there I cleaned and polished the gas grill.
Speaker Work
- I worked on my slides for an upcoming keynote. But that didn’t mean I couldn’t have fun with Chat GPT. I was able to create a wanted poster featuring a rubber chicken.
This week has truly been packed with fun, productivity, and memorable experiences. Stay tuned for more updates in the next weekly highlights blog post!
