Since retiring on March 31 to focus on keynote speaking, I’ve been sharing monthly highlights of my adventures and accomplishments.
Focus on 2025 Business Goals
In September, I dedicated a significant amount of time to brainstorming and setting business goals for 2025. I focused on creating financial targets for my speaking business for both 2025 and 2026. After setting these goals I brainstormed strategies and came up with several creative ideas to achieve them.
Thanks to AI, I was able to streamline much of this work. By using Generative AI tools, I saved time on tasks that would normally take hours—allowing me to focus on important personal milestones, like preparing for my son Kenny’s upcoming wedding.
What I Accomplished
During this process, I made significant progress on several fronts:
- Title for Book: I finalized the title for my upcoming book.
- Outline for Book: I completed a detailed outline for the book.
- First Draft of Chapters: I wrote the first draft of several chapters.
- Fiverr Frames: I used Fiverr to get professional frames for my remote presentations. AI is great, but sometimes outsourcing is better!
- Targets for Social Media and Video: I set specific targets for both my social media efforts and video content creation.
- Tasks Tied to Above: I tied specific tasks to each of these initiatives to ensure follow-through and progress.
Focus on Family: Kenny’s Wedding Prep
September was also a month filled with family activities as we focused on preparations for my son Kenny’s upcoming wedding. My sons Joe and Tom got fitted for their tuxedos, and my wife Beth, along with my niece Rachael, hosted a wedding shower for Kenny’s future bride, Vanna. It’s an exciting time for our family, and we’re all looking forward to the big day!
Generative AI Accomplishments
Generative AI (Chat GPT and Notebook LM this month) played a huge role in my productivity this month, allowing me to accomplish more in less time, freeing me up for family events and other important activities. Here’s how AI helped me stay efficient:
- Website Comparison: I used AI to help analyze different website options, comparing features, pricing, and other important factors to aid my decision-making.
- Email Formatting: Generative AI assisted in refining email formatting, making communication more professional and effective.
- Video Feedback & Comparison: I used AI to gather feedback and make comparisons between different versions of the sizzle reel and introduction video. This helped me determine which version would resonate most with my audience.
- Business Funding Prioritization: AI helped me prioritize the funding sources and financial decisions to move forward with, streamlining the process of planning for future investments.
- Keynote Outline: AI created outlines for upcoming keynote presentations, shaping my ideas into a more structured format.
- Blog/LinkedIn/Facebook Formatting: I continued using AI to format content for blogs, LinkedIn, and Facebook. While I write the content, AI makes necessary edits and formatting adjustments.
- Google’s Notebook LM: I used Notebook LM to get a transcript of my “Fry Your Chickens” keynote, which will be included as part of the material for my upcoming book. Additionally, I used it to create a summary and study guide for my book “Great Things Happen Every Day.” While there were some amusing mix-ups (Notebook LM confused my son with my brother-in-law and mixed up my parents with my mother-in-law and grandmother), overall, it did a nice job.
