This week, we made significant progress on our home with the help of professionals, and I found a new favorite workspace. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Home Painting Project
We hired professional painters to tackle a big home renovation project this week: painting the entire first floor of the house. This included the vaulted ceilings, family room, study, master bedroom, and stairwells. The painters did an outstanding job, and we couldn’t be happier with the results!
Still work to be done!
Stairs to the basement, and to the second floor.
While the painting was underway, we had to move things around each evening to prepare the next area. Beth, Tom, and I worked together to make sure everything was ready for the painters. It took up most of the week, but the effort was well worth it. We still have a few things to put away—I’ll share a picture of the books that need to go back on the shelf. Working Al Fresco
With parts of the house off-limits due to the painting, I decided to move my office setup—a table and my laptop—outside to the deck, and it turned out to be a great decision. Our dog Maisy joined me, and the weather was absolutely ideal, with morning temperatures around 50 degrees and afternoons in the low 70s. Working outside was a refreshing change of pace, and Maisy seemed to enjoy it just as much as I did.
On the second day, Maisy took on an additional role: guarding the houseplants we moved outside to make room for the painting. She kept a watchful eye on them, making sure they stayed safe.
Finished study – including the plants that Maisy successfully guarded!
