We all have challenges, or as I like to call them, “chickens” that can create unnecessary stress and hold us back. Recently, I started using AI tools to help me tackle those chickens head-on. Here are three surprising ways AI is helping me get things done with less stress and more efficiency.

1. Fry This Chicken: Gather All Your Tasks

One of my routines includes writing notes in my notebook and on my whiteboard, color-coded for different purposes. Green is for humor ideas, red is for follow-ups, and so on. It’s an old-school, manual process I’ve been doing since my Compudyne PC ran Windows 3.1, but here’s where AI stepped in to save me some time.

Now, I snap pictures of all my notes and upload them to ChatGPT, where a specific thread called “PROCESS MY NOTES” reads each color-coded item. It automatically organizes my notes: red items go to a follow-up list, green ones to a humor ideas list, and tasks written in boxes get priority tagging. For now, I still manually transfer notes to my files, but full automation isn’t far off (as noted in my to-do item, “Automate the note process”—in red, of course).

2. Fry Your ‘Is Their Site/Video Better?’ Chicken

Curious about where I could improve my website, I asked ChatGPT to compare my site (www.philbarth.com) to other speakers’ sites. For each pair of sites, it quickly listed where my site could be stronger and where it already shines (hint: it’s rubber, has a beak, and makes noise when you squeeze it).

Website comparisons were nearly instantaneous, but video comparisons took a few minutes, even leading me to run out of ChatGPT 4.0 time once. After about 10 site comparisons, I asked ChatGPT to “give me the themes.” With a list of what I could improve and what helped me stand out, I now have a clear path for my next round of updates.

3. Podcast Magic

I’m not sure if this is exactly “frying a chicken,” but it’s certainly AI magic. I uploaded a PDF of my book Great Things Happen Every Day to Notebook LM, and within minutes, it had generated a seven-minute podcast where AI “podcasters” discussed the book’s key points. And they nailed it!

While the summary was impressive, AI still has some quirks to iron out—like when it said my grandma and my mother-in-law were my parents and my son was my father-in-law. Even so, it’s a huge timesaver and something I can refine over time.

Work / Life Balance – Congratulations to Kenny and Vanna!

Last Saturday, my wife Beth and I had the honor of celebrating the wedding of our son Kenny to his wonderful new wife, Vanna. Welcome to the family, Vanna!

What’s Next?

  • Celebrations: Beth and I are celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary this Sunday, and Friday’s my birthday (I won’t say my age, but it’s definitely more than 34).
  • Upcoming Speaking Engagements: I’ll be in Vancouver on November 4-5 at Project Summit / Business Analyst World, delivering my “Fry Your Chickens” keynote on Monday and a new AI presentation on Tuesday.
  • 2025 Keynotes: I’m booking speaking engagements for 2025 now. If your organization could use some humor and stress relief (and who couldn’t?), let’s talk!

That’s how I’m using AI to fry my chickens and make life a little easier. Give these ideas a try or share your own AI wins below! #AI #Productivity #FryYourChickens #HumorInBusiness #PhilBarth #OvercomingChallenges
