It’s Monday.
I’m on a plane home from our Ireland vacation. Two things are going through my mind:
- I’m so grateful for the wonderful vacation with my wife and youngest son.
- I can’t wait to get home and see the dogs.
Ten days ago I was grateful for the AI audience in Cleveland—and I couldn’t wait to get to Ireland. I loved every minute of the vacation.
(Side note: I did absolutely no work for ten days. I didn’t think I could pull that off… but I did.)
Before that I was grateful for the keynote with Leslie Hughes in Washington, DC, and couldn’t wait to get to Cleveland to do an AI seminar for DeNora.
Before that I was grateful for my keynote in Toronto and couldn’t wait to get to Washington, DC. I had a blast there.
Before that… well, you get the idea.
All year (and for ten-plus), I’ve been driven by two things:
Looking ahead with excitement and looking back with gratitude.
And it doesn’t have to be a vacation or a keynote. It can be my son’s birthday party (later this week), movie night, or a home project.
Looking at yesterday with gratitude and tomorrow with excitement makes today even better.
Your turn: What can’t you wait for? And what are you grateful for?
